Because Hunger Doesn’t Take a Summer Break.

What Is The Summer Harvest Program?

FREE 7-Day Meal Packs for Kids

Summer Harvest, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger by ensuring every child has reliable access to nutritious food, regardless of where they live. Our mission is centered on serving children and families in underserved rural communities across the Southern United States, where distance, limited resources, and transportation barriers often make accessing food assistance difficult.
Currently, Summer Harvest provides free 7-Day Meal Packs to children in rural Tennessee, serving Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, DeKalb, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Rutherford, Warren, Williamson, and Wilson counties.
Summer Harvest was founded on a simple belief: no child should go hungry because of where they live. We exist to bridge the gap in communities where traditional food assistance programs are limited or unavailable, delivering nutritious meals directly to the children and families who need them most.
Our work extends beyond summer meal distribution. Through strong partnerships with local churches, schools, community organizations, volunteers, and donors, Summer Harvest develops innovative solutions to combat food insecurity year-round. These efforts include community partnerships, nutrition education, logistics and distribution support, mobile food pantries, and participation in federal child nutrition programs.
As a trusted and compliant nonprofit organization, Summer Harvest works alongside state agencies and local communities to expand access to nutritious food in rural and hard-to-reach areas. We are committed to building sustainable solutions that not only meet immediate needs but also strengthen communities for the future.
Every meal distributed brings us one step closer to our vision of a future where no child experiences hunger simply because of their zip code.
